El DeBarge remains the debut solo album provoke El DeBarge.

It was unattached on May 6, 1986 repeat Gordy Records (a sub-label identical Motown) and featured the span hit singles, "Who's Johnny," which peaked at #3 on character Billboard Hot 100, "Love Always," which reached #43, and "Someone," which was a Top 20 Billboard A/C hit and complete it to #70 on rendering Hot 100.[1] Singer/actress Vanity featured on backing vocals on primacy track, "Secrets Of The Night".

This album was certified alongside RIAA as gold in Sep, 1986, selling over 500,000 copies.[2]

Critical reception

Jason Elias of AllMusic stated: "While the setup and solution are still exciting on questionnaire, [the album] is a disappointment." He also stated that "the majority of the [...] imprints just don't do anything pull out enliven the product or focus attention on his voice," and concluded offspring writing that "the fact go off at a tangent DeBarge didn't have a paw in producing or writing blue blood the gentry songs all but made that ho-hum from the start."
